In-Kind Donation

Thank you for your generosity in supporting Lurie Children’s. Your donations help bring comfort, joy, and a sense of normalcy to our young patients and their families during their hospital stay and outpatient visits. There are several ways to make a difference through toy and gift donations. Before making a donation, please review our guidelines to ensure your gift meets our patients' needs.

We cannot accept gifts of used clothing, toys, books, or other used items. Food and beverage donations can only be accepted if approved by the Donation Coordinator and in line with our infection control standards.

Gift Information

As determined by donor. (more info)

The valuation shown here is in accordance with your own estimation of the donation and cannot be determined by Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has established rules for the deductibility of in-kind contributions. These rules place record keeping responsibility on the donor and do not require the charity to determine a value for the items contributed. An individual's total non-cash contribution valued at more than $500, or a corporation's total non-cash contributions valued at more than $5,000 requires the filing of IRS Form 8283. Any non-cash contributions valued at more than $5,000 requires the donor to obtain a qualified written appraisal in addition to filing IRS Form 8283. Contact your tax advisor for further questions.
