Gender & Sex Development Research
For too long, children and youth whose anatomy may not align with their gender identity have faced rejection, limited support systems and inadequate medical care, putting them at risk for negative health outcomes. Our Gender & Sex Development Program offers a unique multidisciplinary model of care for gender-nonconforming, gender-questioning and transgender children as well as those born with intersex traits that do not fit typical male or female definitions. Building a more solid evidence base through research will improve understanding about the health needs of these children and youth, support their long-term outcomes and contribute to new knowledge. This gift can help expand our research program to accelerate the momentum of change.
